Tamar Anitai
Hi. I'm a digital content and social strategist, writer and editor based in Brooklyn.
Strapped for time? Here's my LinkedIn.
Still like a long read? Here goes:
I help brands and businesses understand complex digital and content landscapes by building cohesive editorial and social strategies and identifying new content opportunities to connect with audiences and drive long-term value across all platforms.
My diverse agency experience includes leadership roles at Edelman and Porter Novelli -- leading a digital team, pitching new business, and educating clients about the digital landscape and content programs -- and editorial leadership roles Viacom and AOL, and I have over 16 years of experience writing about lifestyle, culture, entertainment, and women's issues.
I’ve created digital and social media strategies for clients, products and brands in healthcare, retail, consumer package goods, and tech spaces, including the United Nations, Shire, T.J. Maxx, HP, ViiV, Johnson & Johnson, Shire, Degree, CoverGirl, Pop Tarts, McDonald’s, Pepsi, Taco Bell, Starburst, McCormick, and Bel Brands.
Currently at a major healthcare company running corporate social media.
I spent eight years at Viacom, where I was managing editor of MTV.com, managed and edited a large newsroom and stable of writers, managed editorial, social content and integrated marketing content, started the MTV Buzzworthy Blog (ask me ANYTHING about Selena Gomez! ANYTHING!), acted as on-camera talent, co-hosted digital livestreams and was featured on MTV's & VH1's video countdown specials and was quoted in the New York Times, New York Post, and CNN. (If you're my mom, and chances are you're not, you're pretty excited). I interviewed artists like Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett, Ariana Grande, Lana Del Rey, Katy Perry, Method Man and Redman, Iggy Azalea, Jennifer Hudson, and even Justin Bieber and emerged unscathed.
I spent five years at AOL where I managed community content and tools and edited and wrote their digital travel destination guides and music content.
As a freelance writer, I’ve written about a range of women’s lifestyle issues and topics for Today.com, Womenshealthmag.com, Huffington Post, TueNight.com, and for Cherry Bombe and Fodor's.
I’m a razor-sharp writer and editor, a brand voice expert, and color, voice, and authenticity are my hallmarks. Plus, Ad Age named my Twitter account one of the “10 Media- and Marketing-Related Twitter Accounts That Don't Annoy Us.” It’s always nice to be told you’re not annoying!
